Many
of the fishing lakes and farm ponds in Georgia have suffered from heavy sedimentation caused by the heavy rain events and
increasing new construction . Shallow water enables the growth of algae and aquatic weeds , ruining good fishing lakes and
reducing water volume .
The equipment and methods we use are ideal for removing the silt and restoring these lakes and
ponds .
Some property owners have been waiting for dry conditions to have a pond or lake dug in low lying or spring
fed areas which never dry up enough for conventional grading equipment to operate . With our equipment we are able dig the
pond in these conditions and fine grade the wet spoil material "ready for grass" in one process , (as shown below)
minimizing the cost of the project .
Spillway elevations are critical to earthen dams. We have noticed a large
number of dams previously constructed with poor spillway design which often results in breaching the dam. If this happens
the dam is in danger of blowing out.
We can rebuid and compact the eroded section of the dam and construct an armoured
spillway at the correct elevation.
